Types of BI Module Subscriptions

Perfect Gym PGM BI Module Subscription - Dedicated Data Mart plus the predefined Dashboards in the PGM system.
Perfect Gym PGM BI Module Add-on - ETL Connector - allows you to extract data from Data Mart for your own purposes. This is a connection to SQL Server. You must have advanced IT competencies in your team to use it.

BI Module fundamentals: OLTP vs OLAP

To understand what BI Module is about, you should become familiar with these terms:

OLTP - Online Transactional Processing is a category of data processing that is focused on transaction-oriented tasks. OLTP typically involves inserting, updating, and/or deleting small amounts of data in the database. OLTP mainly deals with large numbers of transactions by a large number of users…. in other words, this is a company Database in the Back Office with a PGM, and a bunch of other well-known PG apps, as a user interface 🙂

OLAP - Online analytical processing is part of the broader category of business intelligence, which also encompasses relational databases, report writing and data mining. Typical applications of OLAP include business reporting for sales, marketing, management reporting, business process management (BPM), budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and similar areas… in other words, this is our BI Module with a Data warehouse and your Power BI software, or any other data visualisation tool, as the presentation layer.

BI Module Performance

Perfect Gym doesn't support of any external tools connected to PG BI Data Mart and any data made available through it (e.g. reports created by the client or 3rd party).
BI Data Mart has a different structure and stores less data than its source system Perfect Gym Manager (e.g. data entities or their attributes).
Perfect Gym sets and enforces the limits of your use of PG BI Data Mart and does not guarantee response times or processing capacity to inquiries and reserves the right to block e.g. non-optimized, too complex or overburdening queries at its sole discretion.
